May 9-13, history was made at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. The inaugural U.S. Women's Amateur Four Ball Championship, held on Pacific Dunes, began with 36-holes of stroke play qualifying from May 9-10. Out of the sixty-four sides that competed in the first two days of qualifying, thirty-two of them moved on to the match-play bracket held over the next three days. On Wednesday, May 13, Mika Liu and Rinko Mitsunaga defeated Robynn Ree and Hannah O'Sullivan 4&3 to hoist the trophy and were crowned inaugural champions.
This marks the 5th USGA Championship held at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. In 2006, Pacific Dunes hosted the Curtis Cup, won by team USA over GB&I, 11 1/2 to 6 1/2. In 2007, Trip Kuehne won the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship on Bandon Dunes and for the first time in 2011, two USGA Championships (Men's and Women's Public Links Championship) were held at the same facility during the same week. Corbin Mills and Brianna Do were the victors of those respective championships.
