Our newest addition to the Bandon Dunes family, The Punchbowl is a 100,000-square-foot putting course designed by Tom Doak, with Jim Urbina. To learn more, here are answers to some frequently asked questions:
Do I need to make a tee time? No tee time needed. All you need to do is show up and put your golf ball in the queue.
What are the hours of operation? The Punchbowl is open by 2pm and closes at dusk. Night use is prohibited.
How much does it cost to play? No cost. The Punchbowl is a complimentary amenity for resort guests.
Where is it located? Adjacent to the 1st tee at Pacific Dunes.
How many holes, and how long are they? 18 holes. Lengths differ from day to day. Some are short, some are long.
Who designed the course? Tom Doak, with Jim Urbina – the same duo that designed Old Macdonald.
How big is it? About 100,000 square feet, or 2.3 acres.
Do I need to bring my own putter and golf balls? Recommendation is, “Yes” however Bandon Dunes can provide loaner putters and golf balls, if needed.
Can I get snacks or beverages while I play? Yes. Guests have access to the Pacific Grill as well beverage service out on the course during play.
Why is it called The Punchbowl? The area is a collection of natural hollows. Punchbowl is a longstanding design concept by golf architects. The 18th hole at Old Macdonald shares the same principles and is aptly named “Punchbowl.”
How long does it take to play? About one hour.
