Paying homage to the Himalayas Putting Course at St. Andrews, the Punchbowl is a 100,000-square-foot putting course by Tom Doak with Jim Urbina. Originally opening in 2014, this free resort putting green is a great place for your group to gather and settle any outstanding bets with your putters.

Do I need to make a tee time?

No tee time is needed. All you need to do is show up and wait for the 1st tee to clear should there be a group ready before you arrive.

What are the hours of operation?

The Punchbowl is open by 2 pm and closes at dusk. Night use is prohibited.

How much does it cost to play?

The Punchbowl is a complimentary golf amenity for resort guests.

Where is it located?

Adjacent to the 1st tee at Pacific Dunes and just northwest of the Pacific Grill patio.

How many holes, and how long are they?

Typically two courses are designed by the Pacific Dunes golf staff each day for guests to enjoy. Lengths differ from day to day and no two routings are ever the same!

Who designed the putting green?

Tom Doak, with Jim Urbina – the same team that designed Old Macdonald.

Do I need to bring my own putter and golf balls?

Yes we recommend bringing your own equipment however Bandon Dunes can provide loaner putters and golf balls if needed.

Can I get snacks or beverages while I play?

Yes. Guests have access to the Pacific Grill and the Tap-In as well as beverage service out on the course during play.

Why is it called The Punchbowl?

The area is a collection of natural hollows. Punchbowl is a longstanding design concept by golf architects. The 18th hole at Old Macdonald shares the same principles and is aptly named “Punchbowl.”

How long does it take to play?

About one hour depending upon your group size. Please be respectful of other groups’ pace and let them pass through if you are a larger group.

Are there restrooms nearby?

Yes, there are multiple restrooms located at the Pacific Clubhouse as well as the bathrooms adjacent to the Punchbowl and 7th hole on Pacific Dunes.
